Young Joe

Here to break to mold!

Howdy, howdy, howdy. Aptly named Young Joe, with my name actually being Joe, and being the youngest of the Phantom Clan, or you can call me Foxy, im not fussy. I am from the eternally gray North, a little town called Wakefield, moving to Lincoln around 2009.

In the years even younger than my current ones my times was spent cultivating my intrests in Science Ficton, Fantasy, most things 80’s (thank you mother!) and of course Art. I was a prolific miniature painter and wargamer, all the geek all the time, hobbies I keep with me to this day

My first tentative steps into tattooing began back in my early 20’s as an apprenticeship with a guy named Joey, you might of heard of him? Since my inception into the public creative world I have been working on my own fantasy-esk style, delicate details and of course lots of colour. A few artsist that inspire me are, Paul Bonner, Keith Thompson and an oldie but goody, Alphonse Mucha.

I will happily turn my hand to any creative project, tattooing or otherwise so hit me up if my work tickles your fancy.

Thanks for the gander, toodle pip.

Joey

Here to break to mold!

I am “Joey”, real name Adrian. I have been known as Joey all my life, as my father started calling me this as a nickname when I was first born, and it just so happens to of stuck.

I began my tattooing career with my father at his studio in Sutton in Ashfield all the way back in 1981. In those days it was all self drawn flash sheets for customers to pick from, far from the wealth of images we see coming through the doors these days. Within a few months I was creating my own freehand japanese pieces which was relatively unheard of back then.

I started, The Shop Tattoo Studio down Portland Street with a friend of mine called Tramp back in 1998. We had bought in a fair few flash sheets for the customers to choose from, giving them a little more variety, but also designing more custom one off designs for our patrons. Nowadays everything is pretty much custom drawn and flash sheets are a thing of the past, my, how things change.

Outside of tattooing my life is filled with an abundance of animals, and the care for them.I have a Percheron heave horse (amongst others my family keeps), 2 Tortoises, many avaries of Racing Pidgeons, 9 Dogs and a handful of Ferrets.

To top it all off i am also the lead singer and Double Bass player of a 50’s style Rock & Roll band, named Joey and the Hot Rods.
